A unique and powerful team which is unmatched in the industry with strong experience in various complementary and relevant industries has been assembled. Some team members already have proven experience in previous successful start-ups like Linktone, Dang Dang, 163.net & Eachnet.
The pillars of R2G are made up of the Technology, Sales & Marketing and Content Acquisition divisions backed up by a highly sophisticated Finance & Operations department.
Jun Wu – President, Chief Executive Officer
JJun is a well-known IT visionary and is widely regarded as one of China’s leading Internet entrepreneurs with an impeccable track record having been involved in three startups – Sendit, Intrinsic and Linktone. He founded Intrinsic Technology which designed and implemented more than 90% of the SMS billing systems for China Mobile and China Unicom and was a major contributor to the success of SMS in China. Jun was also the founder of Linktone, one of the first mobile value-added services providers to China\'s wireless operators. Linktone was successfully listed on NASDAQ in March 2004. A Shanghai native, Jun received a first degree in Computer Science from the Imperial College of Science and Technology at the University of London. Prior to returning to China, Jun was the Chief System Architect of Sendit AB, a Swedish-based mobile messaging company that he co-founded and was acquired by Microsoft in 1999.
Ivy Wang – VP, Sales
Ivy is one of the most experienced executives in the licensing industry in China . Prior to joining R2G, she was the Deputy General Manager at Thakral Home Entertainment , the sole licensor for the Big Eight movie studios in China. At Thakral, she oversaw 4 subsidiary companies and 15 representative offices in 90 cities across the country. As VP, Sales at R2G, Ivy currently leads the biggest digital music distribution team in China
Zhou Ruikang – VP, Content Acquisition
Zhou Rui Kang brings one of the most experienced music and media backgrounds in China to R2G. He previously spent 4 years as the Head of Universal Music Group China prior to R2G. While at Universal, he created two nationally recognized programs “我型我秀” (Lycra My Show / This year is Sprite My Show) and “梦想中国” (China Dream), and nurtured a group of new stars for the company. In addition to his recording label background, between 1994 and 2000, he established the first domestic music television program in China on Shanghai cable television which he subsequently combined with MTV China. And between 2000 to 2002 he oversaw MTV China’s operations.
Mathew Daniel – VP, Strategy Development
Mathew is a 15-year veteran of the advertising industry and made the transition to the online space in the early days of the dot com boom with the then leading web developer Organic after which he went on to lead the interactive and strategic planning disciplines for Y&R Wunderman in Hong Kong and China.His combined interests in new media technology and digital music platforms then led him to be part of a pioneering group at R2G.
At R2G he plays a key role in shaping business models for the monetization of mobile and full-length music, and also in the acquisition of content. He brings to market the skills to bridge the huge divide in Western and Chinese approaches to intellectual property whilst balancing it with the practicalities of customer relevance.
He is also deeply involved in product development strategies which involve music and advertising.
